With help from our partners - national and local, public and private, the Knoxville Area Urban League is preparing young people for success today and well into the future.

The Urban League works with schools, organizations, United Way agencies, and community centers throughout Knoxville, to provide underserved young people with supervised access to the wide range of content and information on the Internet. Knoxville Area Urban League helps to foster positive youth development through the use of technology.

The Urban League Digital Academy is based on the "Five Promises" identified by Knoxville's Promise. When consistently fulfilled, these promises significantly increase the chances that young people will reach adulthood successfully.

Pursuant to the "Five Promises," every participant in the Urban League Digital Academy program, shall have or receive:

• An ongoing relationship with a caring adult;
  
  
• Safe place and structured activities;
  
  
• A healthy start;
  
  
• Marketable skills through effective education; and
  
  
• An opportunity to give back through community service.
